Good-Latimer-Outside

The beginning (or end, depend on which direction you are driving) of the Texas and Pacific Railroad underpass on Good Lataimer in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas. The underpass is covered in graffiti. It's dark under there, with lots of traffic. I imagine that it was risky business for the graffiti artists to do their work down there. Here's one of the more interesting graffiti paintings inside the underpass.

Notice the pedestrian walkway. It is apparent that many homeless folks sleep on the pedestrian walkway in the underpass. It smells of human waste and is littered with cardboard, makeshift mattresses and, most abundant, discarded lottery tickets.

The underpass has since been filled in and paved over, with commuter rail lines now running overhead.
